Hi, I'm Firdavs

pronounced fur-douse

I've been the investor writing the check, the growth marketer running the experiments, the PM shipping the product, and now the designer and developer building the whole thing.

That path wasn't planned, but it gave me something uncommon: I understand what makes a business work, not just what makes a website look good. Every page I build is shaped by years of watching startups win and lose, running hundreds of growth experiments, and learning what actually moves the needle.

I think in product, design in systems, and build with code.

From Capital to Code

A non-traditional path where each chapter built on the last.

~2015–2018

Venture Capital

I was an analyst on an investment team in San Francisco that backed 150+ early-stage startups, including SpaceX, Robinhood, and Patreon. Evaluating founders, studying markets, watching some companies take off and others fall apart. It gave me a sense for what actually makes a business work.

~2018–2020

Growth

Joined Mapbox as a Growth Associate and ran 100+ experiments. I got obsessed with the details: how a headline change moves signups, how button placement affects conversion. Small decisions, big outcomes. This is where I fell in love with the craft.

2020–2022

Product

Led product for two Mapbox products in the logistics space: Fleet and Straightaway. I worked across engineering, design, and business, learning how to think in systems, make hard tradeoffs, and ship things that actually solve problems.

2022–2026

Design & Development

Went all-in on web design and development. Logged 2,500+ deep work hours building with Framer. Designed and built 50+ websites for startups and founders. Became a Framer Pro Expert (top 1%) and was named Top Independent by Contra.

2026–present

Where It All Comes Together

This is where everything clicks. The pattern recognition from VC, the experimentation mindset from growth, the systems thinking from product, the craft from thousands of hours of design and development. Now, with AI coding tools like Claude Code and agentic workflows, I can build faster and more ambitiously than ever. I'm not just designing websites anymore. I'm building products, tools, and systems. And I'm just getting started.

Beyond the Work

I'm originally from Tajikistan, but I've never stayed in one place for long. I've lived on four continents, traveled to over 30 countries, and called San Francisco home for many years. That's where I picked up my love for the Warriors and the 49ers. I love Liverpool too.

These days, my wife and I are slow-traveling through Southeast Asia. We're currently in Da Nang, Vietnam, though where we'll be in six months is anyone's guess. I've meditated every day since 2019, I swear by deep work, and I do my best thinking early in the morning.

I speak English, Russian, Uzbek, and Tajik. Un poco de Español too. I love hiking and exploring trails I haven't been on before. Something about being in nature resets my brain in a way nothing else does. When I'm not working, I'm probably on a pickleball court. My wife would say I have a problem. She's not wrong.
